Traveling Companions - by Celeste V

Dear Friends and Family….. It is with a very heavy heart that I must tell you that I had to have my family,
best friend, and traveling companion for the past 10 years put to sleep today. Shortly after returning in mid-February from our winter travels, my dear Riley’s appetite waned, and he became very listless. On March 22, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He went steadily downhill, although he perked up noticeably for a day last week when he and I and the RV went for one final overnight trip together to a local state park. My friend, Bev Beam, joined us there for the afternoon, and she can confirm that he seemed happy as a clam to be outdoors traveling in the RV once more. Although Riley had been blind the past two years, he was able to snag a kangaroo rat in the desert this winter! For many of us single travelers, our pet companions are our family. He was my beloved RVing Riley, a very important part of the Traveling Trio, and I will miss him greatly. Celeste
