I'm a "newbie," this spring having purchased my "C." I attended the LOW pre-conference & conference in Lewiston earlier this month (July 2008). Met some wonderful people, most couples. I was thrilled to find your site!!! The couples don't realize it, but you have to set about RVing differently when you're a solo. The "how-to" books are written for couples, it seems, so we solos are flying by the seat of our pants in creating ways to effectively function. Please send more info about how to join. I sure want to go to a C-O asap.
Thanks,
Lori

Since your busy photographer has covered so many of your LOW Campouts, wouldn't it be nice to see him also included in some of those photos? It seems like he's the"Mystery Man" of this OR-LOWs chapter. Do some of you have camera's or would Hermann allow anyone to operate his camera equipment to get a photo of himself. Or maybe his camera can take time-set photos so he could be included in the group pictures. Really think he deserves some kind of attention for all of his fabulous photo shootings...how's about it?

From Jean Fisher:
You have probably heard about our great Thanksgiving here at my house by now. We had a wonderful time, beginning with meeting Herman at the Cheese Factory for an ice cream cone after work Tuesday night. Wednesday, he and I drove to Long Beach to buy cranberries at the cranberry museum (they're better there you know, ha!), and then on to Oysterville where we bought two half-gallons of the best oysters I've ever eaten! My company started showing up that evening, and we ate and ate, talked and laughed until we were all tired out.

Thanksgiving day, we ate at noon so we could get to Cannon Beach on time to dig razors. Well, that was a bust because of the big, wild surf, but we all (including the dogs) got some much needed exercise! And yes, we ate more when we got back, talked, laughed, played card games, and got all tired out again. Friday, my Sis cooked a huge breakfast. When I got home from work just after 12:00, my Sis, her husband, Herman and I took a drive to God's Valley to see if it would be a good camping spot for one of our campouts. We decided the road was not made for some of the bigger rigs, but we did enjoy our ride and the scenery.

Not sure which OR LOWS I have here...is it the one that covers Salem, and the Eugene area, or is it the Portland OR LOW chapter? I live in Salem and am wondering what the schedules are for either of these groups and if one gropu is more accessible than the other one.

Need more info, please. I have been an OR LOW member prior but it's been a while so will hardly know anyone any more.

Have RV will travel....also looking to travel to AZ or CA sunny country for the winter months so any help in that area would be helpful too. Thanks aka: Tator02

What a great idea, June! I especially like the one that begins at Haystack, goes to John Day, fossil beds, Oregon Trail interpretive center, etc. I would take time off for that one!

Great job, Pat with our OR-LoW advertising. Thank you!

Looks like everyone had a ball at Vernonia, Sorry I had to leave early.

See you in Sweet Home. Jean

I'm not a member yet. I don't even have an RV at this point. I'm trying to find out if becoming an RVer is practical for a 64-year-old, single, 110-pound woman who doesn't have a lot of knowledge about RVs--or even cars. Is there someplace I can go on the Internet to chat with some single RVers about such things.

Hi, I was reading my email from trom the NorWest qroup and he mentioned your web site. I clicked in and what fun. Made me home sick for the days when I traveled around to the campouts. Health issures keep me home now but I well remember the great Ore. group. The first campout I ever attented was with the Ore. qroup. It was on the coast and it must have been in 91 or 92 and it was must have been over holloween. I have some pictures from that time and some of us had costums on. After the fun and welcome I felt there I was sold on the LOWs and spent several years enjoying their company. Even tho I can no longer travel I still belong to the LOWs and wish I still belonged to the Slab Low's and could travel south in the winter.
